SISTERS IN MINISTRY

This class will offer a combination of biblical studies, application of skills and tools learned in CLI School of Ministry’s Hermeneutics class, and hearing of testimonies in growing - from denying to accepting and encouraging women in ministry! Throughout, we will draw on portions of the book “Paul, Women & Wives” by Dr. Craig Keener.

INTRODUCTION TO APOLOGETICS

Through Apologetics, we learn to “give an answer” for why we believe what we believe with “meekness and fear, gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15). We learn to offer a biblically sound, reasoned defense coupled with a heart of humility. By acknowledging and moving away from defensiveness, we learn to cultivate a spirit of openness and respect that invites hearts to Jesus, regardless of opposing positions.

HERMENEUTICS

Biblical Hermeneutics is the study of the principles and methods of interpreting the text of the Bible.
The class seeks to equip the student with a collection of interpretive tools to help derive the original, intended meaning of Scripture and come to an accurate understanding of the Bible in light of its whole.

ANCIENT LANDMARKS

This class seeks to equip the student through a series of studies in the core, non-negotiable doctrines of the Christian faith!  These doctrines serve as Ancient Landmarks in the Church.
Through Ancient Landmarks, we not only learn about the core doctrines of the Christian faith, but we also learn about how those doctrines “accord with godliness” (1 Tim. 6:3) in the life of the believer.
